REITZER RITES AT QUIHI DECEMBER 23

Funeral rites were held at the Horger Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 23, at 3 p.m. for Hugo J. A. Reitzer, killed in an auto accident the day before. Interment was at Quihi cemetery with Rev. C. Weeber officiating.

The pall bearers were as follows: Edwin Schulte, Theo. Reitzer, Melvin Balzen, Otto Reitzer, Robert Schulte and George Reitzer.

The deceased was the son of Albert Reitzer and Adelheid, nee Schladoer. He was born at Quihi on Nov. 3, 1899. Rev. Geo. Czerkus baptized him on Dec. 2, 1899, with John Reitzer and Mrs. Marie Heyen as sponsors.

He was brought up in Medina county, living near Medina Lake and later near the New Fountain school house. He was engaged in farming and stock raising all his life.

The accident that brought sudden death to him occurred Sunday morning, Dec. 22, near Knippa, Texas, in a head-on collision of two autos, around 2 A.M. Details are still lacking. Age 47 years, 1 month, 19 days.

Those lamenting his death are his aged mother, Mrs. Albert Reitzer and two children of a former marriage, Ethel and James of Hondo.
