Jessie confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. He taught the Young Men's Sunday School class and also served as Sunday School reviewer. After moving to Houston, TX, Jessie became a member of one of the congregations there, where he served as a deacon. He later moved to Lake Charles, LA., under the care of his sister, Sandra, and her husband, Alexander Hamilton. Jessie obeyed the gospel of Christ and was added to the Church of Christ. He was a faithful member of the Mills Street Church of Christ until his death.
Jessie attended Spearsville High School where he graduated in 1973. He also attended Louisiana Tech University, where he received his BS in Art in 1978.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Tamika Criss, four grandchildren, stepmother, Bobbie J. Andrews, eight sisters, Neomia J. Rogers, Margie Williams (Robert), Martha A. Kendricks, (Arthur), Mary J. Lewis (King), Patsy A. Williams, Sandra J. Hamilton (Alexander), Virginia Hill (Alfred) and Cynthia K. Meeking (Gregory), seven brothers, Charles W. Andrews, Tommy A. Andrews, Jeffrey B. Andrews (Theopra), Curlee Andrews, Gary W. Andrews (Joyce), Dexter Glosson (Jennifer) and Joey R. Andrews (Uvonia). Jessie is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
