A. L. MAHAFFEY IS BURIED IN OAKDALE
Aged Shelbyville. Man Died Saturday—Funeral Held Sunday.
Shelbyville, Mo., April 13.—-Funeral services for Absolom [sic] L. Mahaffey were held Sunday afternoon at the Oakdale Methodist church by the Rev. Albert Halliwell. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery.
Mr. Mahaffey died April 11 at the age of 75. He was born June 1, 1847. He was married in 1874 to Miss Alice Vincent. One daughter, Lutie Alice was born to the couple. The wife and mother died at the birth of her child in 1875 and Mr. Mahaffey married again in 1881 to Miss Anna Smith. The daughter who now lives in Columbus survives. There are three grand children.
Mr. Mahaffey was a member of the Black creek Baptist church.
