Entered the service April 20, 1918 at Galesburg; to Camp Dodge; transferred to Camp McArthur, TX April 22, 1918; made 1st Class Private July 20, 1918; to Camp Grant February 5, 1919; discharged February 13, 1919; in the service 299 days.

Marion J Riley, 78, of 147 S Farnham St, died at St Mary's Hospital Thursday at 11:15 AM.
He was born April 4, 1896, at Alpha, and married Clara Brown here on February 27, 1919.
She survives with a son, Dale H, Williamsburg, VA; three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Fern) Pumfrey, Galesburg, Miss Ruby Riley, at home, and Mrs. Art (Norma) Brahmstedt Jr, Ophiem; three brothers, Charles and William, both of Galesburg, and John, West Point, NY; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Peterson, Moline, and Mrs. Robert (June) Coad, Oceanside, CA, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Riley worked as a guard at Butler Manufacturing Co and was a member of the American Legion and First United Methodist Church. He was a World War I veteran.
Funeral will be Saturday at 3 PM at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery in Warren County. Friends may call today from 7-9 PM at the chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, the family said.
