Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Hovious, 68 years of age, were held Sunday at 2 o'clock from the Knifley Christian Church with the Rev. L. C. Young in charge assisted by Rev. E. P. Gast. Burial was in the family cemetery. A large crowd and the many floral offerings gave evidence of the esteem in which she was held. She had been a teacher in the Adair, Taylor, and Marion County schools for 35 years and was also active in the Christian church at Knifley for many years as a Sunday School teacher and worker. She had not missed a Sunday in four years. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Jones, she was married to W. B. Hovious some 48 years ago. He preceded her in death some four years ago. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ina Hovious Goode, and a sister, Miss Rissie Jones, Louisville. The pallbearers were: Jerry Chelf, Dewey Chelf, Willis Brockman, Rollin Knifley, Pete Harris and Samuel Breeding. Honorary: George Sapp, Clarence Marshall, B. J. Bailey, and Azro Hadley. Flower girls were Myrtle Chelf, Ethel Brockman, Emma Arnold, Effie Mings, Nora Jones, Irene Thomas, Martha Christie, and Matre Humphress.
