Alamo Defender. In January 1836, he traveled as a single man to Texas and enlisted in the Volunteer Auxiliary Corps of Texas at Nacogdoches. He went to the Alamo as a member of Captain William B. Harrison's company, which included David Crockett and died in the battle of the Alamo.
