Grandson of Lewis M. & Etta J. (Miles)Chrisinger.

Loving husband of R. M. Chrisinger, father of 12, grandfather of 26 and great-grandfather of 17.

"His Life"
Edward Chrisinger was born in Palisade, MN. where he grew up on the family farm with three brothers and three sisters.

In 1941, prior to the bombing at Pearl Harbor, Edward joined the U.S. Marine Corps. His military career carried him overseas to locations in the South Pacific, including New Hebrides (present-day Vanuatu), New Zealand and Tinian.

His growing family moved several times throughout the United States from California to No. Carolina to Alabama to Florida to So. Carolina-finally settling in Fairfax, Virginia. Three of his twelve children also joined the Marine Corps, and one joined the Army. Two sons served in Vietnam.

After retiring Lieutenant Colonel, Edward studied at the Univerity of Maryland and worked for the Virginia highway department for eleven and a half years. He retire in 1986 to begin his favorite career-full time grandfather.

Many weekends were spent at the family mountain house in Virginia where he hauled logs from the river, and split wood, cleared weeds, and took long walks looking for wildlife.

In his later years, he spent pleasant days enjoying the sunshine and birds on the back patio, under the care of his wife and son Bill.

He died at home surrounded by the presence, love, prayers, and respect of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

"I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith. Now there is in
store for me the crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous Judge,
will award to me on that day-
and not only to me, but also to all
who have longed for his appearing."
2 Timothy 4:7-8
