Mrs. Catherine L. Chaffee died on Tuesday, March 15, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Miner, corner of Matthews and Mulberry Streets. Mrs. Chaffee's long residence in Larimer County gave her a large acquaintance and it is happily said of her that her friends were as numerous as her acquaintances. Her life was remarkable for its probity and the beauty and strength of her example. She had a most excellent character and her intellectual ability lent a force to her influence that will long leave her memory fragrant as it is dear to her bereaved friends. Mrs. Chaffee was a church woman and the burial services of that communion will be held today (Thursday, March 17) at her late residence. A more extended notice of this estimable woman's life will appear in next week's Courier.
