Harry W. Bellison, 86, of Mt. Airy, died Thursday at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 23, 1899, in Mt. Airy, he was a son of the late William A. and
Amy Hyatt Bellison. He was the husband of Pearl M. Bellison.
He was retired after 30 years of service as manager of the Acme
store in Mt. Airy and was a member of the advisory board of the Mt.
Airy-Damascus branches of the Farmers & Mechanics National
Bank. He had been a lifelong member of Calvary United Methodist
Church in Mt. Airy. He had been a member for more than 60 years of
Prudence Lodge 190 AF&AM in Mt. Airy, a member of the Mt Airy
Kiwanis Club, a member of the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Co. and was
active in many other community activities.
Surviving besides his wife are sister Frances Free of Mt. Airy; two
nieces, four great-nephews and two great-nieces.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Calvary United Methodist
Church, Mt. Airy. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Olin L.
Molesworth Funeral Home, Damascus. Prudence Lodge190 AF&AM will
conduct Masonic memorial services at 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral
home. He will lie in state from 1 p.m. until time of services Sunday at
the church.
in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made
to the Organ Fund of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mt. Airy, 21771.
