Clarence, Shelby, Missouri, 1960. Mrs. J. C. Maupin Dies Suddenly Friday Morning.
Mrs. Elizabeth Mae Maupin, 68, died unexpectedly Friday morning at her home in Clarence.
Mrs. Maupin was born May 10, 1892 in Hunnewell, the daughter of Charles T. and Lillie Jane Davis Cox.
Mr. and Mrs. Maupin were in business here until in 1939, as well as having similar stores in Macon and Shelbina. They started in business at Enterprise in 1909.
Mrs. Maupin is survived by her husband, James Clifton; one son, James Cox Maupin of Dallas, Tex.; two brothers, John H. Cox of here and Edward M. Cox of Kansas City; and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Hawkins of New Port, Indiana.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at the Greening Funeral Home with Bro. Lyle Armstrong officiating. Burial was in the Maplewood Mausoleum.
