received a call for the American Embassy telling her that her Mother had died.
They had found no passport in the room and the room was stripped of pictures ,
papers etc. They didn't know who she was until they found under the mattress
a letter from Nancy to her mother. They were able to identify her from the
letter. There was a question as to whether she had been murdered. But they
would not release any information. The Mexican officials wanted to bury her in
a Paupers brave but Nancy wanted her sent home. The Mexican Government would
not sent the body until they had had it cremated and it arrived in California
3 weeks later. Because the body had been cremated there was no way they could
perform an autopsy on it! Janet was the kind of person to be very careful with
her belongings and would not loose her passport. When they found her was the
stripped of clothing and everything. She was buried 3 weeks later in San
Jose, California.
