Funeral services for Edward J. Healy were held Monday, September 6, at 9:30 a. m. at the Immaculate Conception church. Pallbearers were Walter Brucher, Donald Ochs, Phil McCarthy, Charles Casey, Tony Karp and Ed Sheridan. Interment was in Calvary cemetery. Mr. Healy passed away at his home at 28 Third avenue south Friday evening following a lingering illness of several months. Son of Edward J. and Ellen Smith Healy, he was born May 3, 1873. He lived in Faribault all of his life and retired from the postal service in 1938 after about 50 years of service there. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Healy, a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Carey, Virginia; and a son, Edward J. Healy, Jr., Faribault. There are five grandchildren. He also leaves three brothers, William, Minneapolis; Frank, Seattle, and Louis, Faribault; four sisters, Theresa Shea, New York; Mrs. William Williams, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. William P. Townsend and Mrs. Lucius Smith, Faribault; and his aunt, Mrs. W. S. O'Brien, also of Faribault. The following relatives and friends from out of town attended the funeral; Robert, Roscoe and Harold Dudley and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Busch, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. John Stowell, White Bear Lake; Mr. and Mrs. William Healy, Mr. and Mrs. Tom O'Gara and Ambrose O'Gara, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Baker, Mrs. J. P. Carey and Howard Carey, Minneapolis. Captain James P. Carey, Fort Bliss, Texas; Mrs. Mae Rice and Frank Hanlon, Chicago; Mrs. Pat Concron and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Olson, Rochester; Mr. and Mrs. George Kenevan, Albert Lea. Many relatives and friends from Shieldsville, Kilkenny and the surrounding county.
