COL. HARRIS DIES AT THE AGE OF SEVENTY
Raleigh, March 18 – After an active life of three-score years and ten, Col. J.C.L. Harris, dean of the Raleigh Bar and one of the leading Republicans of the state, died at his home in the midst of his family Sunday morning at 7:30 o’clock. For twelve months, Col. Harris had been in declining health. Only recently however, his condition became desperate. With fine vitality and a spirit indicative of his earlier characteristics in a time of stormy political battles, he fought hard and gave in only when the flesh could stand no more.
The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at eleven o’clock at the First Baptist church, of which Col. Harris was a member, conducted by Dr. T. W. O’Kelley.
