Jenna was team co-captain in 2003, and played with the U.S. Under-21 National Team in 2002. Cooper earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in 2003, after leading the Huskers with 14 assists. She helped lead the team to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.

Mechanical engineering major at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Three-year starter, team most valuable player and captain of the Nebraska women's soccer team. Graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville, Ky., and member of Javanon Club soccer program.

She is survived by her parents, William and Ellen Cooper, and her older brother, Billy--great-grandmother, Victoria Hogan; grandmother, Patricia McLaughlin; seven uncles; six aunts; many loving cousins and friends.

Much loved by: University of Nebraska women's soccer, Javanon and Sacred Heart Academy teammates, coaches, trainers, athletic and academic staff.

Cause of Death: Shot in the neck
