According to the biography of her son, Archibald Wright, Nancy was from North Carolina. From 1790 census records we can see that Nancy McIntyre and John Wright lived in Richmond County, North Carolina when they were younger than 16. In that same census, we can see they owned 8 slaves, which can be interpreted that their families were nearby and had provided them with property to start their married life with. I see no evidence that Nancy McIntyre was born in Giles County, Tennessee, particularly since Giles County, Tennessee did not exist when Nancy was born.

However, in Nancy's will, she specifically states she is from Chatham County, North Carolina, which is close to Richmond County. Her birth place should be Chatham County, North Carolina.
