Funeral service for Granville W. "Grant" Looney, 73, of Decatur will be today, March 17, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Bowers officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
Mr. Looney, who died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Huntsville Hospital, was born July 9, 1938, in Eldridge, Mo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a retired IBM engineer, and he loved golf and family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Austa Looney; four brothers, Gayford Johnson, Dale Johnson, Paris Johnson and Jerry Looney; and daughter-in-law, Susan Ikerd.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Norma Looney; two sons, Ted Ikerd (Cindy) of Russellville and Gary Ikerd (Christy) of Athens; two brothers, Robert Johnson of Kentucky and Keet Johnson (Dorothy) of California; grandchildren, Christi Green (Lance), Haley Posey (Matthew), Nicki Stancil (Jeremy), Brandon Ikerd (Misty), Jennifer Ikerd, Courtney Metzger, Rachel Mitchell (Scott) and Carson Hutchins; and great-grandchildren, Dawson Ikerd, Braden and Bennett Green, Brylee Stancil, Conner and Ansley Posey and Porter Grant Ikerd.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Nathan Looney, Stan Maner and Tony Bonds.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke's Building Fund.
