Albert Earl Davis, SR., 84, formerly of 1141 Woodland Way, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on January 10, 2007 at N. M. S. Healthcare, formerly Avalon Manor Nursing Home. Born August 9, 1922 in Mobile, Alabama, he was the son of the late Albert Guthrie and Hattie Lucille McCloud Davis. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond Louisiana. He received his Masters of Education from University of Maryland. He retired from North Hagerstown High School, after thirty-nine years. He managed C. W. Potterfield Swimming Pool for fourteen years.
He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a life member of the American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42; a member of the Friendship Lodge #84 A. F. & A. M., and was Chaplin for twenty years; Past Patron of Order of Eastern Star, Queen Esther Chapter #3; Past Commander of St. Bernard Commandery #9; and other Masonic organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Jane Elliott Davis; one daughter, Janey Eudaily of Dillon, Montana; one son, Albert Earl Davis, Jr. of Falling Waters, West Virginia; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Richard H. Jewell officiate. Private burial will follow the service at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service. Memorial donations may be made to John Wesley U. M. Church, 129 N. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740, or Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders, 5 Public Square, Suite 307, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
