Viola L. Hofferber, 72 of 2811 Circle Drive died Sunday Jan 29 at her home.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Apfel Butler Geddes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grand Island City Cem.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time. Memorials are suggested to the Adult Day Care Program.
She was born Sept 23, 1916 on a farm in Platte county near Columbus the daughter of William and Anna Broekemeier Strong. She received her education in rural Platte County Schools.
She married Fredrick Hofferber on Dec 27, 1950 at Columbus. They lived in several communities before moving to Grand Island in 1965. She worked at a local nursing home until retiring in 1972. After retirement she cared for children in her home. Mr. Hofferber died Aug 25, 1981.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter Marietta Hofferber of Grand Island, three brothers: Mevin, Irvin and Willie Strong, all of Genoa. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers.
