Sally Jean Harris Marshall, 75, a resident of Franklin, died peacefully at 12:45 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, in UPMC-Northwest, Seneca, with her family by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 21, 1936, in Franklin, a beloved daughter of the late Michael George Harris and Wladzia Sitkoski Harris.

She was a 1954 graduate of Franklin High School.

Sally was happiest as a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed, and will be remembered for, her great cooking and family wine making. She was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She was an active and faithful member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin.

She was married Sept. 10, 1955, to Ralph Lewis Marshall. He preceded her in death July 20, 1991.

Sally is survived by four children, Lu Anne Shupe and her husband Boyd of Franklin, Mark Marshall and his wife Sharon of Mt. Airy, Md., Amy Mudrey and her husband Mark of Clearwater, Fla and James Marshall and his wife Mary Ann of State College.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Ben Shupe and his wife Sarah, Judy Shupe, Andy Shupe, Amanda Marshall, Matthew Marshall, Emma Marshall, Joshua Myers, Jacob Mudrey, Nicholas Mudrey, Eleni Marshall, Theodore Marshall and Demitri Marshall.

Also surviving are two brothers, John Harris of Rimersburg and Bill Harris and his wife Tina of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Helen Sharp and her husband Bill of Franklin and Diana Boal of Polk; her sisters-in-law, Joan "Tootie" Harris of Covington, Ky. and Willie Harris of Ozark, Ala.; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents and by three brothers, Carl, George and Mike Harris; a sister, Maryann Buck; her sister-in-law, Sandra "Sonnie" Harris; and two brothers-in-law, Deacon Robert Boal and Ronald "Sonny" Buck.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk St., Franklin. A Christian Wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick Church in Franklin with Monsignor John J. Herbein, pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
