Mrs Florence M Letherman, 82, of 203 S Washington Ave, died at 10:15 am Tuesday in Elkhart General Hospital after suffering a heart attack at her home about an hour before. She had been in failing health for the past year.
Born in Wakarusa Jan 13, 1899, to Aaron and Emma Lechlitner Berkey, she married Ray H Letherman on July 25, 1918, and he preceded her in death Nov. 26, 1960.
Mrs Letherman formerly worked at Hoover’s Care and at Lehman’s Veal and Poultry in Wakarusa.
She was a member of the Wakarusa Missionary Church and the 60-Plus Club of Wakarusa.
Surviving are three daughters, one son, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ray, Jr, who died on June 6, 1979, eight sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call at the Lienhart Funeral Home all day Friday and Friday night.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 1:30 pm Saturday by the Rev Harold Knight, pastor of the Missionary Church. Burial will be made in Olive West Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the missionary Church or the Wakarusa Library or Ambulance funds.
