ISLANDER SUCCUMBS RITES SCHEDULED FOR MRS. DONALD
Mrs. J.A. Donald, wife of the pioneer Grand Island wholesale grocer, died today at her home, 1004 West Division.
Services will be held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Grand Island Cem. The Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The former Nellie Gray, a native of Michigan, came to Nebraska with her parents as a baby in 1871 and they settled in Central City, where she lived until her marriage to Mr. Donald, Aug. 16, 1893. She had lived in Grand Island ever since.
The Donald's only child, Lawrence Grey Donald, died in 1935. He had been associated with his father in the Donald Company. J. A. Donald retired a few years ago.
Mrs. Donald is survived by her husband, who is himself seriously ill; two grandchildren, Mrs. Richard Olwine and John W. Donald both of Grand Island; two great grandchildren, Richard and Margaret Olwine; a brother, Herbert G. Gray, Omaha and a niece, Mrs. Otis Martin, Ralston.

Services for Mrs. J. A. Donald, 1004 West Division, were held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Locke officiating.
Mrs. W. P. Lauritsen played "We Gather Together To Ask The Lord's Blessing and Malotte's The Lord's Prayer." as well as the processional and recessional.
Pallbearers were James W. Vieregg, Clinton E. Cronin, S. N. Wolbach, Carl V. Willard, Arthur C. Mayer, and James E. Wenger. Burial was in Grand Island Cem.
Attending from out of the city were Mrs. Otis Martin of Ralston, Neb., and Mrs. Sidney Gordan, Omaha.
Surviving Mrs. Donald, who died early Friday morning, are her husband; two grandchildren, Mrs. Richard Olwine and John W. Donald, Grand Island; two great grandchildren, Richard D. and Margaret Ann Olwine; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Roma Donald, Grand Island, and a brother, Herbert G. Gray, Omaha.
