Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Jones-Washington Mortuary. Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at St. Matthews Baptist Church with The Rev. M. O. Cooper, officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery in Millican, Texas.
Joe Lou Turner was born July 22, 1929 in Bryan, Texas. He was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, pool and his Buicks and Cadillacs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L. Lue Turner and Margaret S. Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Turner; sons and daughters-in-law, Victor and Rana Turner, Vincent Turner and Shavonda Anderson; daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria "Vickie" Williams and Terry Allen, Valerie and Michael Hubbard, Veronica Lewis and Keith Thompson, Veda Turner and Walter Allen; fifteen grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family gives special thanks to Hospice Brazos Valley and St. Matthews Baptist Church.
