In 1881 Henry T. McEntire and his son-in-law, William Mathis were indicted regarding a murder in Murray County, Georgia. See Courthouse Minutes, Book B., pg. 44. Also see The Georgia Black Book, also filed in Atlanta, Ga. was $150.00 bounty on Henry T. McEntire's head. Later it was reported that William Mathis was a witness to Henry T. killing a man named Orr in a distillary in the North Georgia mountains between Chatsworth and Elijay. William Mathis and Henry T. McIntire fled the state of Georgia with their families in the middle of the night. William Henry Mathis dropped the Mathis from his name and used the name John William Henry from then on. Nanny McEntire confessed to this on her death bed.

His descendants now go by the last name of Henry instead of Mathis.

Lorenzo married Tillie Starrett on 5 Jul 1903 in Faulkner County, Arkansas. They had 2 children: William A. and Lela May.

He married Nancy Cordelia "Cordie" Brown on 25 May 1918 in Van Buren County, Arkansas. Cordie's first husband was Fred Duke they married 23 Mar 1907 in Arkansas and had one daughter Edna Duke. She and Lorenzo had one daughter Wylene.
