MIDDLETON-Hubert "Hubie" Schwartz, age 73, of Middleton, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare, surrounded by his family. He was born on Aug. 31, 1938, in Roxbury, the son of Jack and Irene (Breunig) Schwartz. Hubie was united in marriage to Nancy Freudenthal on Feb. 7, 1959, in Middleton. He worked at Fish Building Supply for 10 years before becoming a postal clerk in Middleton, where he worked for 34 years before retiring in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, camping and gardening. He will be remembered for his humor and ability to live life to its' fullest. Most of all, Hubie loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife of 53 years, Nancy, survivors include his children, Timothy (Dyanne), Lori (Jim) Haag, Michael, and Lynnette (Tony) Ricker;
grandchildren, Justin and Alex Schwartz, Christopher and Matthew Haag, Maranda and Trent Ricker;
siblings, Clem (Mary Anne), Gerard, Marcie (Leroy) Acker, Polly Nachreiner, and Pearl (Gordy) Davis;
sister-in-law, Marie Michaels;
other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents;
brother, James;
granddaughter, Heather Schwartz;
brother-in-law, Ralph Nachreiner;
and sister-in-law, Sally Schwartz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. Memorials may be made in Hubie's name to Agrace HospiceCare, 5935 E. Cheryl Pkwy., Fitchburg, WI 53711, or Waisman Center, 1500 Highland Ave., Madison, WI 53705. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Randall Haas and Agrace HospiceCare, for their loving care of Hubie. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa and will be deeply missed.
