Connie O. Miller Jr., 85, passed away due to old age on Feb. 5, in Novato, Calif. He was born in Birmingham, Ala., on Jan. 16, 1927 to Connie Miller, Sr., and Ella Mae Miller. He had two siblings, Donald "Duck" W. Miller and Jeannette Giddens.

He graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor's degree, and then graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Bachelor of Divinity. Connie served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Pacific Campaign. After the war, Connie served as a pastor for a number of years.

Connie moved to Vallejo in 1978 to live with his brother, Donald. He worked with Alcoholics Anonymous and other social programs in Vallejo.

Before retiring, he was a social worker at the Vallejo Salvation Army. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Vallejo, and he loved his Sunday School class, The Living Today Class. He was also a member of Castlewood Baptist Church of Vallejo. Connie also volunteered with the Sutter Solano Hospital Guild, serving at the Vallejo hospital.

He is survived by his daughter, Jeannie Ann; and many nieces and nephews. He was a beloved uncle and he loved to teach the Bible. Donations can be sent to Alcoholics Anonymous.

Connie will receive a military funeral and is being buried at 11 a.m. March 20 at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.
