Funeral Services Are Conducted From the Home by Rev. Grady Davis.

Funeral services of J.W. Groseclose, who died at his country residence on the Bloomingdale pike one mile from Kingsport last Tuesday night, were conducted from the home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Grady Davis, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran church of Kingsport, assisted by Rev. Robert King, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of this city, and Rev. Bachman Brown, pastor of the Emmanuel Lutheran church. Immediately following the services at the home, interment took place at the city cemetery.

Pallbearers officiating at the funeral were W.W. Hufford, Flem Dobyns, George Roller, George Repass, J.M. Parker, Walter Nelms, W.D. Hill and Will Neil.

Honorary pallbearers were Dave Roller, Buck Sevier, Joe Vance, Sam Newland, A.S. Hoss, M.R. Hillenberg, T.M. Nelms and J.L. Warrick.

Mr. Groseclose was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church of this city, was superintendent of the Sunday school of the church, and was also a member of the council of the church. He took an active part in all movements for the uplift of the community was was especially active in church work. He was one of the most prominent citizens of this county and was highly respected and loved by all who knew him. He left a host of friends to mourn his loss. He was 68 years old at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, and one daughter. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Hauk Copenhaver, of Bristol.
