Lucinda Burton Rites Held Here
Final rites for Lucinda E. Burton, who taught in Gonzales county Negro schools for many years, were held Sept. 7, from Providence Baptist church here, where she formerly had been a member. She had been teaching in the Waco school system for the past 22 years.
She is survived by her husband, J. W. Burton, a retired teacher who once was principal at Edwards high, and lives in the Princeville community. She was the daughter of Orange and Laura Thomas, prominent Gonzales county landowners.
