Son of Jesse Kanode and Sallie Francis "Fannie" Dixon.

Homer Lee died from injuries incurred from being run over by a milk wagon in Roanoke, VA. He was brought back to New River and Buried in the Dixon Family Cemetery.

NOTE: When Fidella Eliza Collins Dixon wife of Stephen James Dixon passed away, the family removed Stephen James' headstone and replaced it with a double headstone for he and Fidella to share. The old headstone for Stephen James was cemented over in order to use again for another person. Therefore, when Homer Lee Kanode passed away, the family utilized this headstone for his inscription and interment marker. Unfortunately, over time the cement cracking fell off the original headstone partially exposing the original inscription for Stephen James, as seen in attached photo and provided by Dixon family members who knew the details.
