Marla Marie Albertson, 59, of Ashton, went back to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 18, 2012. She passed away of pneumonia.

She was born to Daniel Eugene Albertson and Bettie Marie French Albertson on Dec. 1, 1952.

She attended schools in Ashton, and worked at the INL for five years, Ashton City Drug and Ashton Library. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served callings as a Visiting Teacher coordinator and chorister.

She loved to listen to music as much as she loved to sing, and what a beautiful voice she had. She was involved with many projects, like crocheting afghans for Project Linus and crocheting scarves for the Giving Tree. She was a member of the Squirrel Community Pinochle Club, Red Hats and Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP).

Her biggest joy was being with family, attending reunions and events, and her longtime companion, Shadow the cat. She had a passion for reading, cooking, traveling, picnics, watching football, going to rodeos and talking on the phone to family and friends.

She is survived by a brother, Dan (Diane) Albertson; nephews, Robert "Bobby" (Teresa) Albertson and their children Kayden and Jesse, and Shane (Cortney) Albertson and their children Bowdy, Brayden and Brinlee; close friend, Linda (Richard) Naef; and many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved her dearly and will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at the Ashton Stake Center, 516 N. Second St., with Bishop Craig Hammond officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Baxter Funeral Home in Ashton, and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the Stake Center prior to services. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery in Ashton.
