Note - All of Fred and Zoe's children have now been linked to their memorials.

Fred's parents were George Elder and Mary Ann (Harness) Moyer. George and Mary Ann were married March 10, 1859, in Wapello County, Iowa. George's middle initial is given as "E" on the marriage record; it is given as "L" in the Wapello County history book that I have cited below. George was the son of Adam & Sarah S. Hutchinson Moyer. We have not been able to find out when George & Mary Ann died or where they are buried. For more on this line, please see the memorial for George's mother, Sarah Moyer.

Mary Ann's parents were: Frederick Harness
and Rose Anna Harness

In the "Portrait and Biographical Album of Wapello County, Iowa," published in Chicago by Chapman Brothers in 1887, there is a biography of Frederick Harness and his family on Pages 435-436. This article states: "Mary Ann was the wife of George L. Moyer, of Missouri, and died in 1874 at the age of twenty-eight years." This book is now in the public domain and may be read online. I have not been able to find any further information on George and Mary Ann Moyer.

I have posted a picture of Fred and Zoe with their children and an elderly lady who I believe is Emma Guignon. All of the names are listed in the caption, which may be read by clicking on the picture.

Also posted, is a picture of Fred and Zoe on their 50th wedding anniversary. The article about this anniversary from the Ottumwa Daily Courier of January 13, 1938, may also be read in the caption for that picture. This article mentions that Fred's sister, Mrs. Mollie M. Leedom of Moberly, Missouri, would be attending the anniversary party. Mollie is buried in Moberly: Mollie E. Leedom

I recently found a gravestone for Rosana Moyer, who I believe is also Fred's sister.
