Anna Mary (Finn) Brown, 84 of Clinton, Iowa, formerly of Des Moines, Farley, and Dubuque, Iowa died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center, South Campus, Clinton,Iowa.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fillmore, Iowa with Rev. Daniel Krapfl officiating.
Burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Casade. Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the church. The Reiff Funeral home in Casade is in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born on June 1, 1921 in Farley, Iowa daughter of John and Ella (Michel) McElmeel. She received her education in the Farley area schools.
She married Joseph Finn in 1940 in Ely, MN. She then married John H Brown on June 27, 1958 in Clinton, IA.
She was a member of Saint Peter's Parish in Des Moines, Iowa.
Surviving are 6 children, Mary (Bill) Van Dorn, of Clinton, Frances "Frank" Finn of Onalaska, WS, Alice Strukel, of Gilbert, MN, Gerald (Finn) Hess of OH, Patrick (Finn) Carhoff, of Saint Louis, MO, and Sister Ann Pratt, OP, of Racine WS, 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren; and 1 sister, Doris Mazza of East Dubuque, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Joseph Finn, on Oct. 23, 1950; her second husband John H Brown on April 7, 2003; a son Joseph Finn; 8 brothers, Francis, Gerald, Louis, Howard, Bernard, James, Stephen, and Richard; and 4 sisters, Beatrice, Helen, Doris and Genevieve.
