Andrew Harshman was born in German, and arrived at Philadelphia on October 16, 1751, with his father and three brothers and other family members. Andrew died Foxville in Frederick Co. Maryland, probably during the first 8 days of 1794. The name of Andrew's wife was Catherine,and they were married about 1757 to 1760. The first record of Andrew after his arrival in Maryland he is listed on the Muster Roll of Capt. John White's Company in August 1757 as having served 30 days during Indian trouble, for which he was paid 6 shillings. Then on June 25, 1763, 112 acres of land was deeded to Andrew for fifty pounds sterling from a tract of 1367 acres called Resurvey of the Old Fox Deceived lying southeast of Hagerstown and Northeast of Funkstown. Throughout Andrew's life he bought and sold many tracts of land and lived in Washington Co. Md. and the 1790 census page 121 he and other family members are living in Franklin Co. Pa. Some time after 1791 Andrew moved to Foxville Maryland to live with his son Jacob. It should be noted that the farm that stood at the intersection of Rt.40 and Robinwood Drive was called Fox's Sea Farm.
