Raymond F. Ridenbaugh

WARSAW: Raymond Franklin Ridenbaugh, 94, of Spring Mountain Rd., died Sunday March 18, 2012 at his residence.

Raymond was born November 27, 1917 in Tiverton to Carrie (Winslow) and Russell Alonzo Ridenbaugh. He attended Tiverton High School through the 11th grade, and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1936. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a Lt. in Company M, 141st Infantry, 36th Division in the North African and European Theatre of Operations from June 9, 1941 to November 20, 1945. He was awarded the Silver Star and 5 Bronze Stars.

He married Valda M. Snow in Brownwood, TX on December 15, 1941. He was employed by the Clow Corporation for 41 years and was a member of the Spring Mountain and Warsaw Methodist Churches. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #255, a lifetime member of the former VFW Post 2040, and loved the outdoors, working on the farm, and his cat, Precious.

He is survived by four children, Connie (Paul) Wilson of New Castle, Pamela (James) Adams of Coshocton, Ronnie Ridenbaugh of Nellie, and Cherie Dilly of Spring Mountain; a very special granddaughter and wonderful caregiver, Kim Wilson, five other grandchildren, Kris (Shelly) Wilson, Rodney Adams, Ryan (Emily) Adams, Dawn Dilly, and Tina (Glen) Geog; 12 great grandchildren, Samantha Wilson, Staci D'Ostroph, Clayton Wilson, Alex & Austin Adams, Nathan & Julia Adams, Seth Dickerson, Courtney Hagans, and Trevor, Glen Jr., & Cory Geog; four great great grandchildren, Ellie, Noah, and Brooklynn D'Ostroph, and Jackson Williams; a sister, Helen Endsley of Norwalk; and sisters-in-law, Ida Ridenbaugh of Cape Coral, FL, Vada and Jean Snow of Coshocton, and Thelma Ridenbaugh of Windham.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 70 years, Valda Ridenbaugh, on January 12, 2012; brothers, Otis, Clayton "Pat", and Wendell Ridenbaugh, an infant sister, Imogene; and a son-in-law, Danny Dilly.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 21, 2012 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Charles Warren officiating. A Masonic service will also be held. Burial will follow in Coshocton County Memory Gardens, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton County Veterans Council. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service.
