Rose M. Anderson, age 96, of Whitehall, died on Sunday, February 15, 2004, Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall, where she had been a resident of the nursing home for the past 17 years.

Rose was born on October 28, 1907, in Alta Vista, Iowa, to William and Emma (Glienke) Vick. She married Casper Anderson on October 24, 1927, in North Dakota. Casper preceded Rose in death on December 25, 1936.

Rose was left with three young children but was a strong, hard-working woman, determined to make a life for herself and her children. Rose enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, gardening, knitting and crocheting. She was a kind and giving person who thoroughly enjoyed visiting with her many friends and relatives.

Rose is survived by two daughters, Doris (David) Wiltrout of Chippewa Falls and Jean (Boyd) Relyea of Eau Claire; a daughter-in-law, Ada Anderson of Norfolk, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clara Larson of Minnesota.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by a son, Robert on February 4, 1990; four brothers; and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church in Blair, with burial in the church cemetery both in Blair. Pastor Glenn Leaf will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church.
