Mrs. J. F. Cochran, esteemed resident, died at her home near Blackwood, Tuesday, Feb. 17. Granny Cochran as she was affectionally known to her friends and neighbors, was 86 years of age and spent many years of her long and useful life in the community where she died.
Surviving are 6 daughters; Mrs Belle Tucker and Mrs Cora Baker of Dalton, Mrs Mattie Goss and Mrs Ollie Kilgore of Calhoun, Mrs Ada Clark of Overbrook, Oklahoma, and Mrs Ettie Goss of Floyd County. One son, Garfield Cochran of San Jacinto, Calif.
Funeral services were held from Black Springs Church Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 pm, conducted by Rev. Ralph Kimsey and Rev. C. D. Shaw. The Hall quartet was in charge of music. Interment followed in the Harmony cemetery with Kenemer and Combs funeral directors in charge.
