He was born April 13, 1918, in Fulton County's Dover Township, the son Earl and Nellie (Verity) Brown. In 1937, he married Iris Eugenia Ernst, who died in 1996. He was an appliance repairman for Hammontree's for 27 years, retiring in 1981. He was also a custodian and boiler operator in Clinton Street High School and a farmer. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Wauseon, honorary FFA member and was a original member of the local REACT CB organization.
Surviving are a daughter, Francita LaVal (Delmer) Gasche, Morenci, Mich.; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Cogan, Wauseon.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ United Methodist Church, Wauseon, with Pastor Hap Itson officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Wauseon.
