"Knox City, Texas Oran S. Covey, 83, a former resident of O'Brien, Texas, died Sunday in a Haskell, Texas Hospital.
Grave side services will be at 10 AM Tuesday in the O'Brien Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Trice, pastor of O'Brien Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
He was born July 27, 1906 in Erath County, Texas. He was retired from the oil and gas business. He was a veteran of the Army. He was a deacon at O'Brien Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Laverne Tankersley of San Diego, Calif., two brothers, Moore of Haskell and Lucian of O'Brien; two sisters, Ruth Williams of Henrietta, Texas and Linnie Williams of Haskell; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren."
