Surviving are seven children, Thomas R. (Kathy), Janne Hanrahan, Maureen (Mike) suhadolink, Nancy Hanrahan, Ronald J., Larry (Catherine) and William E. (Anne); 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Hanrahan and Sr. Mary Ellen, O.P. Eleanor, a brother, James J. (Carole) Hanrahan and many other relatives.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Force. He flew 21 missions with the 390th Bomb group, 8th Air Force. He spent the last ten months of the was as a POW. He was awarded the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters in addition to numerous campaign medals.
