Katherine Marie Humphrey, age 90, a resident of Delta and Montrose, Colo., passed away March 22, 2012, at the Delta County Memorial Hospital. Katherine was born March 31, 1921, to Mark and Georgia Victoria (Weedman) Esser. She worked as a waitress for several years in the Grand Junction, Delta and Montrose area. Prior to this area, she had worked in Denve, too. Katherine Married Dale R. Humphrey on March 30, 1970, in Craig, Colo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2008, in Montrose. Katherine enjoyed the outdoors and working in the garden and her flowers. She was an avid bingo player for years.
Surviving family members include three sons, Jay R. Atchley of Delta, Colo., Ronald E. Atchley and wife Betty of Montrose, and Dennis W. Atchley of Texas; a son-in-law; five brothers; four sisters; six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
