Florence Marie White , 84, of Ames, died Friday, March 16, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the Chapel at Bethany Manor in Story City. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Florence Marie White was born June 19, 1927, to Amos B. and Nellie Lande in rural Huxley.

She married Richard T. White on May 31, 1947, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived and raised four children in Ames.

She was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley and was a charter member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Ames.

She worked many years in local restaurant food service and enjoyed more than 40 years of ladies league bowling. She loved baking kringla and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jo (Wayne) Larson; and three sons, Paul (Cheryl) White, Jim White and Rob (Gail) White, all of Ames. She also is survived by seven grandchildren, Dane, Adam, Matthew, Ben, Erica, Jenna and Lacy; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Delores Day.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2003; five brothers and three sisters.
