Harold M. Hall, 85, of the Meth-Wick Community, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 1995, in St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. Memorial services: 3 p.m. Tuesday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where friends may register after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Ross of Springfield, Va.; a son, Robert H. and wife Rebecca of Iowa City; and seven grandchildren.
Harold was born Aug. 12, 1909, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the son of Charles and Lula Miller Hall, and graduated from Coe College in 1932. Harold married Wiltrude L. Cherry on July 18, 1937, in Cedar Rapids. She preceded him in death in 1973. He then married Louise Wimer in April 1975. Harold owned and operated Hall Clothiers in the Roosevelt Hotel from 1948 to 1965. During his retirement years, he worked as a starter at various Cedar Rapids golf courses. Harold was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Elks and Chi Beta Phi Fraternity.
Harold was a sports enthusiast and sponsor of several local basketball and baseball teams. He was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed trips to the Rose Bowl to watch the Hawks play. Harold also enjoyed spending the winter months in Green Valley, Ariz.
Instead of flowers, a memorial may be given to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or YMCA Camp Wapsie.
