Attack Claims A.O. Andelin

Aubrey O. Andelin, 70, president of the Eastern Idaho Grain Trading Assn., died Saturday morning [24 October 1959] of a heart attack.

He was stricken with the attack at home and taken to a local hospital where he died within minutes after arrival.

He was born Oct. 7, 1889, at Filmore, Utah, the son of Olof Wilhelm and Mary Turner Andelin. When he was [?] the family moved to Provo, where he received his early education and attended Brigham Young University.

From 1912 to 1914 he served an LDS mission in England. Upon returning from his mission he went to work for the Daynes Music Co. in Salt Lake City.

Move to Idaho

Mr. Andelin was married Nov. 7 [or Nov 1], 1917, to Gladys Passey in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Idaho Falls in Jan. 1919, where he established the Andelin Music Co. This he operated until 1928 at which time he organized the Eastern Idaho Grain Trading Assn.

He is a charter member of the Idaho Falls Kiwanis Club and a past president of that organization.

Mr. Andelin captained a team to sell stock to finance construction of the Bonneville Hotel, receiving special recognition for his outstanding sales in the campaign. He was also instrumental in pioneering the first water well in Idaho Falls, located on 10th St.

His LDS Church activities have been extensive, including early work in the MIA and Sunday School stake board. He was the second bishop of the 2nd Ward for seven years and first bishop of the 3rd Ward. Under his administration the 3rd Ward Church was built. Other activities include president of the Idaho Falls Stake High Priest Quorum, first patriarch of the South Idaho Falls Stake from its inception in 1946 until the time of his death.

Survivors

Besides his widow he is survived by five sons and daughters [names deleted] and 22 grandchildren.

Brothers and sisters surviving are [names deleted].

Funeral services will be Wednesday [28 October 1959] at 2 p. m. at the 3rd LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Wayne Conrad officiating.

The family will meet with friends at the Wood Funeral Home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p. m . And the body may be viewed until service time.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
