ANDRZEJ PIEKARSKI
(1856 - 1944)

Andrew Pekarske (sic), 88, retired town of Newton farmer, died at his farm home, now operated by his son Edwin, at 5:50 a.m. today. He had been in failing health for several months.

Funeral services wil be held Saturday morning at 9:30 from the Leschke funeral home here and at 10 o'clock from St. Casimir's Catholic church at Newton with the Rev. Anthony Betley officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Pekarske was born Feb. 4, 1856 in Warsaw, Poland and came to this country at the age of 24. He came first to Chicago and five years later came to the town of Newton to farm. In 1888 he married Miss Susan Leschke.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Jacob Zych of Newton and Mrs. John Goetz of Chicago; three sons, Edwin on the homestead, Dr. Albert Pekarske of this city and Dr. Anthony Pekarske of Chicago; and one brother, Joseph at Newton.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home here from 10 a.m. Friday to the time of services.
