Alma Pauline Roberts Hardwick, 92, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the family residence.

She worked for Jackson Manufacturing for more than 30 years.

She grew up in East Chattanooga and attended Avondale Elementary School and Hardy Junior High School.

She was a member of East Chattanooga Church of God. She was very active in 4-H and home demonstration clubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus L. Hardwick; son, Robert L. "Bobby" Hardwick; grandson, Brad Skelton; parents, William A. Roberts Sr. and Lena Mae King Roberts; sister, Velma Byrd; brothers: Ralph, Burl, Stanley, Lester, Beaumont and Arthell Roberts.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law: Melva Jean King of Cleveland, Sandra and Ralph Brock of McDonald, Martha and Dean Skelton of Cleveland and Diane and Jack Arnold of Greenbrier; granddaughters and sons-in-law: Stephanie Arnold and Shirley and Rick Lansford; grandsons and spouses: David and Marian Hardwick, Mark and Jana Skelton, Jonathan and Kayde Brock, Jeremy Arnold and Wesley and Denise Skelton; a special great-granddaughter, Maggie Skelton; and stepgreat-granddaughters: Hope Elrod and Charity Barnley; sister, Geneva Allen of Cleveland; and brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Gracie Roberts of Cleveland; special nephew, Tom Allen of Ooltewah; and several other nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Grissom Funeral Home with the Rev. David Graves and Minister Richard May officiating.

Interment will follow in Blue Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with David Hardwick, Mark Skelton, Wesley Skelton, Jonathan Brock, Jeremy Arnold and Tom Allen serving as pallbearers.

Graveside service will be concluded with a "Trinity Dove Release" ceremony.
