Robert E. Kensinger, 73, Claysburg, passed away Thursday at Altoona Regional Health System, Seventh Avenue Campus.

He was born in North Woodbury Township, son of the late Raymond and Margaret (Vaughn) Kensinger. He married Ruth (Weyandt) Hoenstine on July 10, 1995, in Winchester, Va.

Surviving are his wife of Claysburg; two sons: Larry Kensinger and wife, Lisa, of Altoona and Rob Kensinger and wife, Renee, of Henrietta; a daughter, Diane Kensinger of Martinsburg; three grandchildren: Kirk, Kyle and Ashlee; a sister, Doris Jean Grubb of Mooresville, Ind.; and four brothers: Russell Kensinger and wife, Alice, and Roy Kensinger and wife, Donna, all of Martinsburg, Lex Kensinger and wife, Rachael, of Annville and Bruce Kensinger and wife, Patricia, of Charlotte, N.C.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Nancy Forshey and Betty Finnegan; and a brother, Dex Kensinger.

Mr. Kensinger served in the U.S. Army from 1961-63. He retired from Appleton Papers Inc. in 1996 and was previously employed at Wineland Equipment Inc. He was a member of Claysburg Church of God and a member of Murray-Appleman American Legion Post 147, Roaring Spring.

Bob enjoyed auctions, flea markets, yard sales, John Deere products, going for car rides and looking for wildlife, watching TV and spending time with his family.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at Claysburg Church of God where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, with the Rev. Marcus Tanner officiating.

Interment will be in Bedford County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Robert's church.

Arrangements are by Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.
