CLYDE-On Thursday, October 14, 2004, Clyde Cox, 88 of Clyde, passed away peacefully at his home. Funeral Services were at 11 am Monday, Oct 18th at the Clyde Church of Christ with Rick Cunningham and Mark Burgess officiating,directed by Bailey Funeral Home and burial in the Clyde Cemetery.

He was born April 16,1916 to Otho and Eunice (Hatchett) Cox in Andrews, Texas. His mother died when he was 8 days old and he lived with his grandparents until his father married
Marie Moore when he was 5 years old.
Clyde married Clogene McRae on Feb 1,1941 in O'Donnell, TX. He served and was wounded in WWII with the 96th Infantry Division. For many years he delivered propane for H.W.Lemons Butane in Clyde. After reaching retirement age, he continued working for Nick Saab, who became like a son to this family, at Thrifty's in Clyde. Clyde was a faithful member of the Clyde Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Clogene Cox, one son, Burl Cox and his wife Carolyn of Clyde; one daughter, Sharon Glaze and husband Tony of Abilene; four grandchildren, John Cox of Clyde, James Cox of Abilene, Julie Martinez of Midland and Chris Glaze of Seneca Missouri; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
