Harold was born to Henry John Masing and Louise Zoe Noeltner. He was the twin of Henry Joseph Masing. He lived in Port Clinton all of his life. Harold had two sisters and two brothers: Loretta Louise Miller, Leona Marie Masing, Chester Henry John and Henry Joseph. Harold worked at The Matthews Boat Company from age 16 until it closed almost 50 year later. He married Marjorie Juanita Wharton on February 20, 1931. They had three children: Harold Edward, Roy Gene and Ruth Louise Masing.
