---- — Jerry R. Stoyer of 3 Davidson Ave., Greenville, died at 7:10 p.m. Saturday (3-24-12) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville, after an extended illness. He was 72.
He was born April 1, 1939, to Vern E. and Ethel Mae (White) Stoyer.
He married Patricia M. Mosconi on May 14, 1960. She survives at home.
He attended the former Penn High School in Greenville.
He served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1958.
He worked as a security guard at UPMC Horizon, Greenville, for 27 years.
He was a Protestant.
He was a member of VFW Post 3374 and the Italian Home Club, both Greenville.
Jerry was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed fishing and watching his grandsons compete in sports at Greenville High School.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Susan M. Stoyer, Greenville; a son, Jerry E. Stoyer and his wife Diane, Greenville; two brothers, Ronald Stoyer and his wife Mona; and Jack Stoyer, all Greenville; two grandchildren, Steven C. Stoyer and Nicholas E. Stoyer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven T. Stoyer; and a brother, Edward "Bud" Stoyer.
