McElhattan - Roland G. Barger, 83, of McElhattan, died at 6.15 p. m. yesterday in the Person Nursing Home at Jersey Shore. He had suffered a stroke.
A native of Woodland, Clearfield County, and son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barger, he had worked 20 years for the New York Central Railroad, then, during World War II, for Piper Aircraft Corp., until retiring. He was a member of the Woodland Evangelical United Brethren Church.
His wife, Beulah [Camp] McKinney Barger, died in November, 1964. Surviving are a daughter by an earlier marriage to the late Mary Campman, Mrs. Milton E. Glossner [Charlotte] of Lock Haven; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren; also four stepchildren, Russell McKinney, Ironton, Ohio; Mrs. H. H. Martin [Grace], Lock Haven; Mrs. Richard Dorey [Sarah], Lock Haven R. D., and Mrs. Edward Nonemaker [Margaret] of McElhattan, with whom he lived until entering the convalescent home.
BARGER — Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Helt Funeral Home, the Rev. Dr. Russell C. Oyer officiating, for Roland G. Barger, 83, of McElhattan, who died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 1966 at the Person Nursing Home, Jersey Shore. Interment, Linwood Cemetery, McElhattan. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday. Helt Funeral Home, Lock Haven.
