Geesaman, John 8 Sept 1876 - 10 Sept 1927

John H. Geesaman, who lived nearly all his life in Villisca and Guss vicinity, died Saturday morning at 5 o'clcok in the Iowa State hospital in Iowa City, where he had been for the past week taking treatment for pernicious anemia and other diseases. Mr. Geesaman was born September 8, 1867, in Cedar County, Iowa and was 60 years old at the time of his death. He was married July 4, 1893 to Miss Allie Whitehead at Clarinda, Iowa, and to this union were born seven children, who with his wife survive. They are Mrs. Walter Moody, Mrs. Wilber Frist, Mrs. Hershell Figgins of Villisca, Mrs. Clyde Price of Simms, Montana, Dale Geesaman of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Marie and Rudolph at home. The body arrived here Sunday morning from Iowa City and was taken to the Fessler & Sutphen undertaking parlors to await services which were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Advent Christ was Christian Church with Elder J. F. Hulbut in charge of service. The singing was by Harold Nordyke, J. B. Means, Harold Todd, and R. J. Swanson, and the pallbearers were B. C. Henry, George Lacock, J. T. Josten, John Groff, William Rock, and O. M. Moody. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. All of Mr. Geesaman's children were present at the funeral except Mrs. Clyde Price of Simms, Montana.
